I would like to respond to this article in The Progress May 12, 2023 edition regarding “Three kids hit in Keith Wilson crosswalk.”

The article does not mention if speed was a contributing factor involved in this incident, however, I wonder if it was.

It is about time that we see our drivers in Chilliwack ticketed for speeding in this community.

I drive down Vedder Road each day and have seen many accidents on Vedder Road. However, I have only seen one police car stop a vehicle not involved in an accident. We have a fancy light on Vedder Road that flashes one’s speed as we pass the sensor heading north on Vedder Road. What a joke. Come on Mayor Ken Popove and Chilliwack city council, let’s get united and get our local RCMP out on the major roads in Chilliwack and demand these speeders be ticketed.

What are we waiting for?

Shall the next headline read “Three kids hit and killed on the streets of Chilliwack?”

Lets take some action, please.
