Pickup truck into pole leaves 300 without power in east Chilliwack

Incident happened before 9 a.m. on Saturday on Ford Road

More than 300 BC Hydro customers were without power Saturday morning after a pickup truck struck and knocked down a power pole on Ford Road in east Chilliwack.

The incident happened at approximately 8:45 a.m. on June 20 in the 9300-block of Ford Road.

Those affected by the power outage are east of Prest Road, north of Highway 1, and south of Castleman Road.

BC Hydro crews are on the scene now.

No word on an estimated time power will be restored, and no word yet on injuries in the motor vehicle incident.
