Valley Huskers win BC Football Conference awards

Desmond Jeanson and Ethan Homan were recognized for their efforts in a 21-20 loss last weekend.

Valley Huskers defensive back Desmond Jeanson earned B.C. Football Conference Defensive Player of the Week honours after a standout performance in week one.

In a 21-20 home field loss to Westshore, Jeanson intercepted Rebels QB Cody Henkel twice, returning those picks 35 yards. He added four tackles and a knockdown.

Meanwhile, place kicker Ethan Homan earned Special Teams Player of the Week honours after booting six punts for 231 yards and five kickoffs for 230 yards. He added two converts and field goal kicks of 32 and 37 yards.

The BCFC Offensive Player of the Week was Langley receiver Khalik Johnson who had seven catches for 122 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-30 win over the Vancouver Island Raiders.
