Valley Husker linebacker Dawson Davis has won a Player of the Week award in the B.C. Football Conference.
Davis was recognized for an outstanding effort in a 23-19 win over Victoria’s Westshore Rebels last weekend.
The Abbotsford native was all over the field, producing eight tackles. He leads the league in solo tackles, with 35, and total tackles, with 54.
His day against Westshore also included a sack of quarterback Mason Brown and an interception.
Davis’s Huskers improved to 5-3 and are on track for their first playoff spot since 2008.
They are on the road Saturday, visiting the Rebels for a rematch at Victoria’s Westhills Stadium and wrap up the regular season Oct. 13 with a road game at Nanaimo.
