Two for Vandenburg as United blanks Abbotsford

Four second half goals put the game away for Chilliwack's U-12 United soccer girls in a 5-0 win over the Abbotsford Storm.

Chilliwack’s U-12 United Select soccer girls demolished the Abbotsford Storm 5-0 in a home game last Sunday.

The home side had the only goal of the first half, with Grace Vandenberg setting up Sydney Dombowsky.

Chilliwack broke the game wide open in the second half, with Vandenberg scoring two of her own. One was set up by a Katie Lampen cross, the other by a Kennedy Galley pass.

Lampen scored the fourth United goal, and Dombowsky ended the onslaught, redirecting a shot from Deanna Tuchscherer.

Strong defensive play by Grace MacIsaac, Miranda Coombes, Kassidy Nienhuis, Kalista Kirkness, Madison Steele and Amber Feaver helped  goalkeeper Abigial Vandop earn the shutout.
