Chilliwack's U-16 soccer Strikers face a must win scenario in Cup action after dropping a 3-0 decision to West Vancouver on Sunday.
The locals came out with a strong first half, but couldn't capitalize on the offensive chances they created.
West Van had just three quality chances, but made one of them count.
An unfortunate bounce off a goal kick came to an uncovered West Van forward, who directed a seemingly harmless shot on goal. The ball deflected off a Chilliwack defender, and skipped into the net to give the Caps a 1-0 halftime lead.
West Van got aggressive in the second half, tilting the field in their favour. Chilliwack got into chase-mode and started misfiring on passes and clearing attempts. At the 26-minute mark, a Caps midfielder emerged from a crowd and nailed a shot into the top corner to give West Van a 2-0 lead.
Just five minutes later, the Caps scored off another deflection to wrap up the scoring.
The Strikers play two games this weekend, one of them a Cup game that they must win if they hope to advance in the playoffs.
