Soccer Strikers secure spot in final

The Chilliwack U-12 Striker boys have won four straight to earn a spot in the youth soccer Group E Cup final.

Chilliwack's U-12 soccer Strikers made it four wins in the four games to book a place in the Group E Cup final, beating the Central City Breakers last weekend.

Chilliwack dominated from start to finish. Just three minutes into the game, Tyler Smith scored from 25 yards out to give the locals the lead.

Chilliwack dominated possession, led by the standout play of midfielders Jordan Grahn and Nathan Brodie.

With two minutes to go, Jacob Bockhodt's shot deflected off a Surrey defender looping over the goalie and into the net.

Goalie Jackson Gardner make a fantastic one-handed save midway through the second half to preserve the shutout, the first time Chilliwack has blanked an opponent this season.

The last remaining game of the round robin is now immaterial as Chilliwack has qualified for the Group E cup final.

That game takes place in two weeks time in Langley.
