Chilliwack’s Eddy Solla captured his second medal at the Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg, scoring silver in shot-put last Friday.
The B.C. Wheelchair Sports Association athlete launched the ball 7.58 metres, setting a personal best.
Earlier in the week he bagged bronze in the discus competition and afterwards BCWSA coaches Lisa Myers and James Hustvedt made a special presentation to Solla, recognizing his hard work and dedication on and off the field.
“Eddy has been in this sport since he was a young kid, and to see him transition from wheelchair racing at the 2009 and 2013 Canada Summer Games to reaching new personal bests at seated throws in 2017 was incredible,” Myers said. “James and I were both extremely impressed with his performances and we look forward to seeing him continue to improve in the future.”
