Pools closed for provincial swim meet

More than 500 swimmers from across B.C. will invade Chilliwack's Landing Leisure Centre this weekend.

Eighteen Chilliwack Spartans are competing in a huge meet that will shut down the Landing Leisure Centre's pools to the public this weekend.

Eighteen Chilliwack Spartans are competing in a huge meet that will shut down the Landing Leisure Centre's pools to the public this weekend.

Chilliwack’s Landing Leisure Centre pools are closed this weekend to accommodate the 2017 Swim BC Short Course AA Championships.

The massive meet has more than 500 swimmers in action, including several Chilliwack Spartans.

The local contingent of 18 includes three males; Randolph McInroy (12 years old), Calvin Dumont-Belanger (14) and Rastik Ember (16).

Emma Evans and Emily Jou are the youngest Spartans, competing in the 10 year old group.

Other Spartans are Jaelyn Bjornerud-Brown, Mackenzie Campbell, Halle Causton, Jenna Charest, Maddie Charest, Taegan Factor, Sheigh Gaudette, Brooklyn Gerber, Nathasha Hawkenson, Julia Maria Hirch, Mary Rose Jerodico, Jessica Jou and McKenna Postles.
