PHOTOS: Rough and tough athletes compete at Chilliwack Rodeo

Chilliwack’s Kaila Mussell rode twice in saddle bronc, bucked off both times

The stands were packed for the first day of the Chilliwack Rodeo on Friday during the 151st annual Chilliwack Fair.

The Chilliwack Rodeo Association is celebrating 35 years this year and they kicked off the weekend with a rough-stock rodeo on Aug. 11 at Chilliwack Heritage Park.

Rough-stock rodeos feature bareback riding, saddle bronc riding and bull riding.

Chilliwack’s own Kaila Mussell was at Friday’s rodeo competing in the saddle bronc event. She had two rides and was bucked off both times.

She was one of 15 athletes who competed that night.

The BCRA Rodeo takes place on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
