Penticton wins give Chiefs national notice

The Chilliwack Chiefs moved up 10 spots in the latest CJHL rankings of Canada's best junior A teams.

Two wins over the Penticton Vees can do a lot to improve your reputation.

Just ask the Chilliwack Chiefs, who are up to No. 10 on the CJHL list thanks to back-to-back beatings of the defending Canadian champs.

Chilliwack beat the Vees 4-1 in Penticton two weekend ago, and topped them 5-4 in the Saturday night home-ice rematch.

The Chiefs now sit as the top BCHL team in the CJHL rankings, with Penticton dropping to No. 12.

Chilliwack soared 10 spots from the No. 20 spot they occupied last week.

The Victoria Grizzlies are No. 15 with the Merritt Centennials getting an honourable mention.
