Pelino nets Atlantic Hockey goalie of the week award

Chilliwack Chiefs grad Aidan Pelino stopped 60 of 61 shots as his Bentley Falcons beat and tied the Robert Morris Colonials in two games.

Aidan Pelino has posted excellent numbers during his freshman season at Bentley and now has his first NCAA shutout.

Chilliwack Chiefs grad Aidan Pelino has earned Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week honours after turning in two clutch performances on the road last weekend.

Tending net for the Bentley University Falcons in a back-to-back against the Robert Morris Colonials, Pelino earned his first NCAA shutout with a 3-0 win Friday.

Pelino stopped 28 saves for the goose-egg. He turned aside 32 of 33 pucks the next night as the Falcons and Colonials played to a 1-1 draw.

Pelino is now 3-2-2 on the season with a 2.57 goals-against average and .930 save percentage. His team is 9-10-5 in Atlantic Hockey play, leaving them eighth in the 12 team circuit.

Bentley takes on ex-Chief Spencer Graboski and his Sacred Heart Pioneers in a home-and-home this weekend.
