Chilliwack’s Lightning Sports Green Machine took top spot at the Eastern Fraser Valley District Championship last weekend, winning the girls (10-13 years old) fastpitch title in Abbotsford.
The team moves on to squirt C provincials, taking place July 8-10 in Kamloops.
Pitcher Kyra Wiens tossed 27 innings. A team effort saw every player contribute offensively, led by home-run slugger Hannah Lamotte.
Other team members are Sydney Redden, Grace Wetmore, Sally Shin, Allie Thiessen, Jordyn Morin, Brooklynn Duncan, Kyneesha Kingdon, Kara Serruys and Jada Roberts.
