Chilliwack’s Spartan Swim Club got back into competitive action Nov. 17-18, travelling to Langley for the Olympian Invitational meet.
Three hundred and 70 high level swimmers competed in this one, and 27 Spartans did well.
Jessie Gibson produced the most gold, winning three races. Competing in the 13-14 year old girls division, she took first in the 200m freestyle, backstroke and fly.
Gibson added bronze in the 400m individual medley.
Colton Peterson had a solid outing in the 15-and-over boys division, placing first in the 400m individual medley and third in the 100m breaststroke.
He placed fourth in the 200m backstroke and fifth in the 200m fly.
In the same group, Carson Olafson earned silver in three races, the 100m freestyle, 200m fly and 200m backstroke. Olafson finished eighth in the 400m individual medley.
Carson Loeppky swam to seventh in the 100m breaststroke and eighth in the 200m breaststroke. Grayson Bukkos placed sixth in the 400m freestyle and seventh in the 200m freestyle, 100m backstroke and 100m fly.
Myles Wheeler (10 and under boys) swam to silver in the 200m freestyle and bronze in both the 50m breaststroke and 200m individual medley. He added fourth place finishes in the 100m freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke.
In the same division, Sean Deacon placed sixth in the 200m freestyle and seventh in the 100m backstroke.
In the 11-12 year old boys group, Wyatt Hine placed fifth in the 100m breaststroke.
In the 15-and-over girls group, Kila Hine placed seventh in the 100m backstroke and 100m fly, and eighth in the 400m individual medley.
Erika Sang finished fifth in the 100m backstroke and Sydney Torok finished fifth in the 400m freestyle and sixth in the 100m fly.
