Fraser Valley Thunderbirds skate into playoffs

The B.C. Major Midget Hockey League team takes on the Great Vancouver Canadians in round one.

The Fraser Valley Thunderbirds skate into playoff action this weekend with a best-of-three series against the Greater Vancouver Canadians.

The T-Birds wrapped up the B.C. Major Midget Hockey League season last weekend with 10-1 and 8-1 road wins over the South Island Royals.

They finished third in the 11 team league with a record of 25-13-1-1 and take on the sixth seeded Canadians (19-17-3-1) in a series that sees games played Saturday (2 p.m.), Sunday (7 p.m.) and Monday (7 p.m. if needed) at Langley’s George Preston Recreation Centre.

The Fraser Valley roster includes Chilliwackians Ethan and Jason Bowen, Zack Feaver, Jackson Mainse and Travis Halladay.
