First place Fraser Valley Thunderbirds ground Vancouver Northwest Hawks

The top and bottom teams in the B.C. Minor Midget Hockey League squared off with predictable results

Chilliwackians powered the first place Fraser Valley Thunderbirds to three more wins in B.C. Minor Midget Hockey League action last weekend.

The T-Birds beat the last-place Vancouver Northwest Hawks by scores of 5-1, 4-1 and 5-2.

Lucas Bourdon had a three goal weekend while Clay Kurtz produced one goal and one assist.

Dylan Brooks, the top point producing defenceman in the league, set up four goals giving him 18 points in 21 games played. Luke Wismer, the league’s fourth highest scoring blueliner, produced one goal and one assist, giving him 13 points in 21 games played.

The Thunderbirds (16-4-1) host the third place Cariboo Cougars (11-5-1-4) in three games this weekend in Abbotsford.

The first place team returns to action this weekend with games Saturday and Sunday against the second place Vancouver Northeast Chiefs (17-5-4-2).
