Deputan targets title at Chili Spiel

The annual ladies Chili Spiel takes place over three days this weekend at the Chilliwack Curling Club.

Eighteen local and out-of-town teams will compete in this weekend’s Chilli Spiel at the Chilliwack Curling Club.

The annual ladies’ bonspiel starts tonight and continues Saturday and Sunday, with Chilliwack’s Lisa Deputan targeting a title. Richmond’s Michelle Baratelli is also in the mix, using this event as a tune-up for the senior ladies Lower Mainland playdowns, taking place Jan. 24-26 in White Rock.

— The Chilliwack Curling Club has two teams from its mixed doubles league participating in the BC Mixed Doubles Championships this weekend in Maple Ridge.Stephanie Prinseand Marcel Maure form one team. Steve Strathdee and Mary Crombie form another.

The 15-team event started Thursday and runs through Sunday at the Golden Ears Winter Club.
