GW Graham basketball star Deanna Tuchscherer is getting a second look from Basketball Canada as it assesses potential players for its national cadette team.

Tuchscherer’s 2001 birthdate makes her eligible for the team and she attended a tryout camp in Edmonton in mid-December.

She’ll fly to Toronto for the next one, which is being held Mar. 24-30.

Tuchscherer is one of three B.C. athletes looking to impress at the camp, along with Kelowna secondary school’s Kennedy Dickie and South Kamloops secondary school’s Olivia Morgan-Cherchas.

The ultimate goal for Tuchscherer is securing a spot on the Canadian squad that will compete in the 2017 U-16 FIBA Americas Championships.
