The NWO Roller Girls' Outsiders team faced off against Okanagan Roller Derby Association’s Bad Apple Betties over the Easter weekend in Kelowna.

The game was back and forth all the way through. NWO was down 70 to 76 at halftime, but they came back to the win in the first official bout of the season with a final score of 159 to 133.

This bout was a roller derby debut for three NWO skaters: Harley Havok, Nat Bomb and Glory S Mess, who proved solid on the track with Pepe Le Pow throwing hard hits and Wry N Ginger leading the way for the Outsiders.

The Honey Badgers, NWO's junior roller derby team, also played over the holiday weekend in Nanaimo. They won in both age categories with a score of 172 to 62 against the Training Wheels (ages 7- 11), and the age 12-17 Honey Badgers beat the Candy Crushers 255 to 238.

Next bout is at home where NWO Wolfpack takes on Rated PG Rollergirls from Prince George on April 26 at the Chilliwack Landing Sports Centre at 7:15 p.m. Admission is by donation (minimum $5 per person).

The junior team will also be playing that day at 5 p.m. against the Spruce City Derby Brats. Admission is free.
