Chilliwack’s Lisa Deputan posted a 2-4 record at last weekend’s B.C. Senior Women’s Curling Championships, bowing out after round-robin play.

The tournament was held at the Vernon Curling Club.

Deputan curled alongside Donna Maitland (third), Carol Murray (second), Sheila Ford (lead) and Crystal Murray (fifth).

They opened last Tuesday morning with a 9-4 loss to Leanna Andrews (Golden Ears Winter Club/Royal City), but bounced back in the afternoon with a thrilling come from behind win over Marnie Jepsen (Royal City/Howe Sound/Comox Valley), scoring two in the eighth end in a 7-6 triumph.

Back to work Friday, Deputan found herself on the wrong side of a 7-6 final against Marilou Richter’s Penticton/Kelowna rink.

She bounced back again with a 7-5 victory over Heather Nichol (Castlegar/Trail/Nelson), but ended round robin play with a 6-5 loss to Donna Mychaluk (Royal City/Parksville) and a 7-4 loss to Penny Shantz (Parksville/Nanaimo/Courtney).

Mychaluk’s crew ended up capturing the title with a 6-5 nine-ending triumph over Shantz.
