Chilliwack soccer star Jordyn Huitema is spending time with the Canadian senior women’s team this month as it prepares for the 2019 season.
Huitema has been called up from the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Girls Elite Super REX and is one of two 17 year olds on the training camp roster along with Ontario native Jayde Riviere.
The Canadians play a training match Thursday against Switzerland and have an international friendly match against Norway scheduled for Jan. 22 in La Manga (Spain).
Canada will compete in the Algarve Cup in February and the team has qualified for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, taking place this June in France.
