Fresh off a historic win in the AAA high school provincial championship game, the G.W. Graham Grizzlies have earned national respect.
CanadaFootballChat.com released its final Top 50 ranking for Canadian high school football, with the Grizz checking in at No. 5.
That’s four spots higher than they were the previous week, thanks to a 36-33 title game triumph over Terry Fox Saturday (Dec. 4) at B.C. Place Stadium in Vancouver. The teams flip-flopped in the rankings. While GWG went from No. 9 to No. 5, the Ravens dropped from No. 3 to No. 9.
The Sardis Falcons gave G.W. Graham a tough test in their playoff opener and made the Top 50 list at No. 49.
The four teams topping the list are the Huron Heights Warriors from Newmarket, ON., followed by the St. Thomas More Knights (Hamilton, ON.), Miller Marauders (Regina, SK.) and Harry Ainlay Titans (Edmonton, AB.).
Other B.C. teams on the list are the Notre Dame Jugglers (Burnaby) at No. 25, the Centennial Centaurs (Coquitlam) at No. 26, the Vancouver College Fighting Irish at No. 28, the Mt. Douglas Rams (Victoria) at No. 36 and the Lord Tweedsmuir Panthers (Surrey) at No. 47.
G.W. Graham beat the Centaurs and Rams in the playoffs.
