Chilliwack three selected for Team BC

The U-16 Team BC hockey squad will have a Chilliwack flavour to it, with four Chilliwack Minor Hockey players on the roster.

Three Chilliwack girls will represent their province at next month’s BC Winter Games in Mission.

Ryann Allenby, Tamina Keller and Kate Stuart made the roster for U-16 Team BC, impressing at a tryout camp held last weekend at the Richmond Oval.

More than 50 players were vying for spots.

Allenby plays for Chilliwack’s female Warriors bantam A1 squad. Keller and Stuart are both first-year players on Chilliwack Minor Hockey’s bantam A3 boys team.

Stuart will be joined in the Team BC crease by McKenna Unger, an Abbotsford native who tends goal for the CMHA Warriors.

Nine netminders tried out in Richmond, with both spots going to CMHA products.
