Seven Chilliwack Minor Hockey players skated for the Fraser Valley East zone team that won the Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association’s Midget C Scholarship Tournament.

The ninth annual tourney was held March 9-15 at several Lower Mainland arenas.

Defencemen Kenjo Matsuda-Versavel, Zacheray Muir, Liam Shearer, Lexi Robertson and Doug Miller were joined by forwards Deshaun Brooks and Jayden Utley on the 19 man Fraser Valley East Ducks roster.

They beat the Fraser Valley West Canucks in the first place game.

Chilliwack’s Jason Rhodes was the team’s head coach with Ben Kingma assisting.

Each year the PCAHA holds six tournaments at the midget and juvenile levels to showcase top players and promote the ideals of scholastic achievement and sportsmanship.
