Chilliwack’s atom A1 hockey team made a bit of history during the 2019-2020 season.
The team managed to win not one, but two flight one banners. The team locked up first place in the regular season with two weeks remaining in the season, earning the atom A1 flight one league banner. That propelled Chilliwack into the final four playoffs.
Facing off in a round-robin with South Delta, Surrey, and Ridge Meadows, Chilliwack opened with a 3-2 win over South Delta, followed by a 5-2 win over Surrey. They clinched first place without needing to play the final game and were presented the playoff banner on Wednesday by Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association atom executive Warren Macrae.

“The team played with a lot of skill, determination and displayed strong sportsmanship all year,” said coach Clayton Krahn.
This is the second year in a row that Chilliwack has won the atom A1 flight one playoff banner.
The team included forwards Riley Charlton, Kieran Dartnell, Cruz Gale-Jacobson, Ryder Ferreira, Owen Hopfner, Isaiah Krahn, Liam Shea, Lincoln Spaner and Wyatt VanTongren. The defenceman were Emme Bartel, Colton Brigge, Caleb Gauthier, Koltin Herfst, Rylan Kuznik and Lucas Stevens.
Davin Chyld and Austen Conroy were the goaltenders.
Krahn was assisted by coaches Justin Gauthier and Ed VanTongren.
