Chilliwack four impress at all-star game

Four Chilliwack Minor Baseball products are gunning for a trip to Quebec, and strong all-star game performances helped their case.

Four Chilliwack Cougar midget AAA baseball players suited up for the annual BC Minor Midget All-Star Game, held Saturday at Port Moody’s Heritage Woods Park.

Cohen Bogart, Donovan Moorman, Ryan Petkau and Dan Rogers made the trip.

The game was a pitchers duel, with Team White topping Team Red 4-2.

Base hits were rare, but Bogart had a single and Petkau legged out a triple.

The Chilliwack four are vying for spots on a midget select team that will travel to Trois Rivieres, Quebec, in mid-August for the 2013 Midget AAA National Championships.

Only 18 spots are available and 60 players were at an open ID camp that took place before the all-star game.
