Bronze bonanza for Spartan swimmers

Carson Olafson had three bronze medals at the B.C. AAA Swim Championships, competing for Chilliwack's Spartan Swim Club.

Chilliwack’s Spartan Swim Club attended the B.C. AAA Championships.

From Mar. 1-4, 670 of B.C.’s best swimmers gathered in Surrey.

Against this elite competition, the Spartans produced five bronze medals.

In the 14-year-old girls division, Jessie Gibson grabbed bronze in the 200m fly, adding fourth place finishes in the 100m fly, and 200 and 400m individual medlies.

She placed sixth in the 200m backstroke.

Carson Olafson competed in the 14-year-old boys division, taking triple bronze in the 200 and 400m freestyles and 100m fly.

Olafson added fourth place finishes in the 200m fly and 100 and 1500m freestyles.

In the same group, Grayson Bukkos finished sixth in the 100 and 400m freestyles, seventh in the 200m freestyle and eighth in the 200m fly.

In the 15-year-old boys category, Colton Peterson finished third in the 100m breaststroke, fourth in the 200m breaststroke and sixth in the 400m freestyle.
