Bowen impresses Moose Jaw Warriors brass

Chilliwack's Ryan Bowen has been invited to the main training camp of the Western Hockey League's Moose Jaw Warriors.

Chilliwack’s Ryan Bowen had a good week at the Moose Jaw Warriors rookie camp, and is moving on to main camp with the Western Hockey League club.

Bowen, Moose Jaw’s fifth round pick in last spring’s WHL bantam draft, signed a standard five-year WHL players contract Sunday, and will hit the ice with other Warrior hopefuls this week.

Bowen will suit up for a preseason game against the Swift Current Broncos Tuesday night, and soak up as much as he can before returning home.

Because of his age, Bowen can’t stick with the big club this season. He’ll be eligible to play in up to five regular season games, and can rejoin the Warriors after his midget season is done.

Bowen is a Chilliwack Minor Hockey product who spent last season with the Okanagan Hockey Academy’s top rep team.
