Blesch named MVP as Team BC grabs gold

Chilliwack lacrosse star Christel Blesch helped her BC crew win gold at midget female lacrosse nationals, held in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Chilliwack’s Christel Blesch won gold last weekend, playing for Team BC at the midget female lacrosse nationals.

The tournament was played in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Over 400 of the top female box lacrosse players showcased their skills July 23-28.

Blesch and company won all five of their games, starting with a 10-1 dismantling of Alberta.

They did the same to the ILA (Iroqois Lacrosse Association), then pounded Nova Scotia 17-3.

A 4-2 win over Ontario punched their ticket to the finals, where they beat Ontario again, 7-2.

Blesch collected eight goals and four assists overall.

She was named the most valuable player in the championship game, scoring twice and adding an assist.
