Ben Meyer Memorial a major success

Exceeding all expectations, the first annual Ben Meyer Memorial Softball Tournament raised $25,000.

The first ever Ben Meyer Memorial Softball tournament was a huge success, exceeding any expectations the organizers had.

Put together in memory of Ben Meyer, who passed away from brain cancer last year, the tournament was held over three days last weekend at Townsend Park. Organizers targeted $10,000 as an optimistic target.

When the dust settled, the tally was $25,000.

The money will be shared between the BC Cancer Agency, BC Children's Hospital and a local family whose daughter is battling cancer.
