Letters: Access road not part of Vedder Trail

No one wants to drive on the Rotary Trail, petitioner says.

Re: Vedder River gate petition.

I suggest you get your facts straight.

The access road for vehicles in question in the petition in not and was never part of the Rotary Trail.

The Rotary Trail runs parallel to the access road from the parking lot down to the rail bridge.

No one is asking to drive on the Rotary Trial. This access road has been in use for over 50 years. I feel it is your responsibility as editor of one of our local papers to check out your facts before making an incorrect report.

Furthermore, your online poll insinuates we want to drive on the Rotary Trail. This is not true. The subsequent poll results you print will be completely misleading.

In closing, I wish to reiterate, no one wants to drive on the Rotary Trail.

The road along the edge of the river from the parking lot down to the railway bridge is not the Rotary Trail. There is a buffer of vegetation varying from three to 10 metres between the access road and the Rotary Trail. The Rotary Trail crosses over the access road at the end of the parking lot.
