Open letter to the City of Chilliwack – Bus route to Eagle Landing Center:
In my opinion, there are no excuses not to create a new bus route to give many people the opportunity to shop at the new Eagle Landing shopping centre.
If you look at the map of bus routes available in Chilliwack, you will realize that there are two routes that follow the same itinerary from Downtown to Cottonwood Mall. These buses are numbers 5 and 6.
In my opinion it will be very easy to change the No. 5 route.
The new route would start from the Downtown exchange, then would continue on: Kipp Ave, Mary St, Wellington St, (west direction) – Bus stop at Wellington and Corbould, and Wellington and Ashwell – Ashwell Rd - Bus Stop at Ashwell and Kipp, Ashwell and Hodgins, Ashwell and Bernard, Ashwell & Deans Ave - Eagle Landing Parkway - Bus stop at Home Depot (along the road), between Walmart and Cineplex (Parking lot) and Stream - Evans Rd - Bus stop at Evans and Knight Rd - Knight Rd - Bus stop at Knight and Garnet Dr, Knight Rd and Topaz Dr - Topaz Drive, Chilliwack Mall, Cottonwood Mall (terminus).
As you see, this simple solution will be inexpensive for the City of Chilliwack.
I sincerely hope you will consider this solution and take action to create a new bus route 5.
