Warr; Wendy Patricia (nee Abbott)
October 14, 1948 - June 19, 2014. Wendy was born in Chilliwack, and other than one year in Europe, lived her entire life in this community. After various health struggles, Wendy suffered a massive stroke which suddenly took her life June 19. She was an active child who loved the outdoors. She was blessed with an idyllic family life growing up as the middle of three sisters. Wendy married Dale Warr on June 28, 1969, and after a short teaching career, she stayed home to raise her two daughters, Lisa and Heidi. Wendy was always active in her church and developed a passion for worship, prayer and the study of scripture. She was an incredible grandmother and used her gift of hospitality to express her love to anyone who came into her life.
Wendy will be lovingly remembered by her husband Dale, daughters Lisa (Gord) Ponak, and Heidi (Dave) Blundell, father Bob Abbott, sisters Gay (Allen) Jacobi, Vicki (Henry) Beckmann, grandchildren Caleb, Abby, Ashley and Tyler, niece Darnell McCullagh and nephew Trevor Jacobi. Wendy was predeceased by her mother Thelma Abbott in 2011. A celebration of life will take place at First Avenue Christian Assembly on Thursday, June 26th at 3:00 pm and will be followed by a reception.
