Vi was born in Vancouver November 02, 1927 to Anne & Thomas Nichols. Shortly after her birth the family moved to the Fraser Valley and made Chilliwack their home. Vi met her future husband Raymond at the roller rink when she was 16 years old. After passing into grade 12, Vi left school to work full-time at the telephone office where she made many lifelong friends.
Vi & Ray were married October 24, 1947. Vi quit her job at the telephone office due to lack of transportation as she and Ray lived in the country. They saved enough to buy a house in town and she resumed her job at telephone office.
Ray and Vi went on to have 2 daughters and had many close friends and family. People gravitated towards Vi as she had a loving and nurturing nature. Vi started a new career in 1966 as an office assistant at Mary Street Medical and continued until her retirement in 1989.
Vi is survived by her 2 daughters; Lynn (Dennis), Katherin, 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; Andrea (Brett), Ethan & Liam, Jason (Jalene), Ireland & Olive & Beau & Rory, Dylan (Emma), Wyatt. Vi affectionately known as "Toots" by those closest to her was predeceased by her husband Ray, February 18, 2017. Not a day went by that she did not miss him.
