June 5, 1945 - February 1, 2024
Vernon Jones, 78 passed away peacefully on February 1, 2024, at the Eden Care Home in Chilliwack, BC.
Vern was born June 5, 1945, in Vancouver, BC. He was the fifth of eight children born to Tom and Vivian Jones.
Vern married Geraldene McKay on December 27, 1973, and they settled on Fairfield Island where they raised their family.
Vern retired from the position of Chief Engineer of Maintenance at Chilliwack General Hospital. During retirement he very much enjoyed attending the Chilliwack Chiefs games, summer holidaying in his RV and spending time with family.
Survived by his wife of 50 years, Gerry, son Mark (Lorelei), daughter Gwen (Trinity), five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, brothers Clint and Mervin, sister Mildred, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his son Vernon Junior, brother Cliff, and sisters Pearl, Darlene, and Beverley.
According to his wishes, following cremation a celebration of life will be held in the months to come.
