It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tina, a beloved wife, mother, Beppe, sister, aunt and friend.

Tina passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband Dirk by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. There will be no more suffering or tears.

Tina was born in Britswerd Friesland, The Netherlands to Anske and Djoeke Fransbergen. She was the eldest of 7 siblings so became a caregiver from a very early age. Mom frequently said that she would have enjoyed being a nurse.

The family immigrated to Canada in 1952. They arrived by ship in Halifax NS and then travelled by train across Canada to Matsqui BC and then eventually settling in Chilliwack BC.

Tina met her loving husband Dirk in Chilliwack at the family farm in 1961. Their love for each other grew and they were married in July 1963. They made their home in Chilliwack where they raised their family and have remained for 54 years. We often joked about the wedding day as the minister forgot to show up because he was milking the cows. They had to call another minister to perform the service.

Tina and Dirk spent many summers at Loon Lake where they enjoyed camping and fishing. You could see her face light up with pride when friends and family showed up either to visit or to camp with them. She always had goodies ready at the trailer to give to anyone who stopped by.

Mom spent countless hours over the years doing what she enjoyed most, cross stitch and embroidery. Many friends and family have been blessed with a piece of her work.

She leaves behind to carry on her memory her husband Dirk, son Raymond, daughter Diana (Gord) Barson, grandchildren Brittany (Rick) Ellis, Brennan Barson, great grandson Brantley Ellis, 3 sisters, 2 brothers and numerous nieces, nephews and friends both in Canada and The Netherlands.

She was predeceased by both her parents and her sister Rika.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time. If anyone would like details of where and when please send an email to beppewolbers@gmail.com.

In lieu of flowers a donation in Tina's name to the BC Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
