ANDREW_Jan18

Born in Hazenmore, SK, July 19, 1927, Swede passed away quietly with all his family at his side on the 12th of January 2008.

He is survived by his wife Erna, five children: Dennis (Jean) Andrew, Lois (Barry) English, Lorne Andrew, Anlene (Brooke) Styba and Gloria (Dennis) Moorhouse, 12 grandchildren and one great grand-daughter.

He was predeceased by his brother Jack Andrew and his sister Ardis Le roux.

He served in the Merchant Navy, did deep sea diving for Ocean Salvage, worked on the Alaska Highway and for over 40 years, logged in the Queen Charlotte Islands, the West Coast and Fraser Valley of B.C. He also spent many of his summers cutting hay. He was a member of the Anavets for over 37 years and enjoyed his Thursday evenings there socializing with friends.

Our father was a very compassionate, loving  and sentimental man who gave so much of himself to his family and friends. He loved to share stories of  his past with his children and grandchildren. He was also known to tell a tale or two at the “Royal Hotel Table of Knowledge”.

Swede spent the last nine years at the ValleyHaven Guest Home where he was treated especially well by all the staff. He was a very special person to all there that knew him.

Swede (dad) will also be so greatly missed and so lovingly remembered, as he touched so many during his life.

Special thanks to all the wonderful staff at ValleyHaven Guest Home. You made this very difficult time much better for our father and our family.

A celebration of our father’s life will take place on Thursday January 24, 2008 at 7 P.M. at the Anavets Club 46268 Yale Rd. Chilliwack.

We love you dad (grandpa). We will miss your gentle hand and loving way!
