Stanley Howard late of Chilliwack passed away on March 29, 2007 at the age of 82. He was born in Kenora, Ontario on March 11, 1925.
Stan is survived by his wife of 60 years Muriel, daughter Verlene (Joe) Clegg, son Russell, granddaughters Darcie (Jeff) Murray, Donna Trelenberg, great grandchildren Josh, Cody, Riley, Nicole and Nathan, sisters Muriel Taylor, Betty Buchanan of Neepawa, Manitoba, Ardel (Dudley) Ford of Arden Manitoba, Doreen (John) Hildebrandt of Chilliwack, Hazel Watson of Neepawa, Manitoba, Kathy Huband of Chilliwack and brother Ernie Howard of Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, sister-in-law Isabel Smith of Dauphin, Manitoba and many nieces and nephews.
Stan is predeceased by his mother and father Verna and Herbert Howard, brothers in-law Carmen Lindsay, Foss Taylor, Bert Buchanan, Harry Watson, Jack Huband, Harold Smith, Bill Murray, Frank Peacock. Sisters in-law Arlene Murray, Geraldine Peacock, Doreen Howard. Niece’s Gail Murray and Karen Martinson. Nephews Wayne Lindsay and Darwin Hildebrandt.
Stan resided in Chilliwack for 55 years and was a prison guard with BC Corrections. He had many interests fishing, camping, gardening and enjoying chats, laughs, debates and playing Keno with his friends and comrades at the Senior Vets. He also belonged to many organizations, Life Member and Manager at the Chilliwack Senior Veterans Society, Life Member at the Anavets Unit #305 and Legion Member for 60 years.
There will be a Celebration of Life held on April 14, 2007 at 1:30 pm at the Chilliwack Senior Vets Hall, 9233 Main Street, Major Angus Haggarty officiating. A private interment at the Legion Cemetery will be held earlier that day. Should family and friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of their choice.
