Passed away peacefully, August 7, 2018 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital. Born January 6, 1942 in Stratford Ontario.
Survived by his wife, Phyllis (Lewis) Fawcett. Son, Michael (Debra) and grandchildren Addison, Ron (Connie, Autumn, Ryker) and Jana (Jim, Faren, Jude, Julian). Son, Gregory (Austina) and grandsons Andrew and Evan. Siblings, Bruce (Pamela) Fawcett, Lois (Jim) Lennon and Mary (Ken) Sackrider and several nieces and nephews across Canada. Also survived by his German Shepherd Max.
Roy faithfully served his country for 33 years with the RCMP and in retirement, committed countless hours to the advancement and professionalism of Search and Rescue Organizations across BC (CARDA, CSAR, BCSDA). He was also an active member of the Chilliwack Amateur Radio Club.
Roy has been an amazing husband, father, grandfather, mentor, teacher, colleague and friend throughout his life. Roy has touched and impacted many lives in his time with us. He will be greatly missed. Roy did not want a funeral service, but a Celebration of Life will be organized for a later date.
