BUDAU; Ruth Helen (nee Hildebrandt)

May 5, 1923 ~ May 9, 2014. Ruth was born in Big Valley Alberta, the second youngest of ten children where her loving family settled on a homestead. She attended Normal School, where she trained to be a teacher, graduating July 1942. Later she moved to Chilliwack, BC where she met and married Helmut. Five children came in quick succession. They lived in different places in BC, they settled on a farm in Chilliwack, which all the children and grandchildren loved to visit. She was predeceased by her husband, grandson Kenneth and great grandson Ajay. Left behind are children Rose Wade, Ernst (Mona), Ellenore (Gerry) Mack, Margaret and Linda (Darcy) Dragonetti, grandchildren Julie Marie, Camilla, Gerhard, Rosalie, Jennifer (Jeff), Daniel (Lindsay), Kurtis (Nubia), Rigel (Erin), Julianne (Dave) and Johnathan, great grandchildren Olivia, Zen and Preston. Also survived by her sister Ella, brother-in-law Edwin and many nieces, nephews and friends. Ruth developed a passion for painting in her later years. She was exceptionally loving, not only to her family members but everyone she met. She will be greatly missed. Please join us for a celebration of Ruth's life. The viewing will take place Saturday, May 17 at 12:30, service at 1:30 at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam, 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack, BC. Graveside service to follow at Chilliwack Cemetery on Little Mountain. In lieu of flowers we would ask for donations in Ruth's name to Make a Wish Foundation, Covenant House Vancouver or SPCA.
