Roy Gerald Enger passed away Saturday, July 16th, 2011 at the Chilliwack General Hospital. Roy was born on October 17th, 1934 in Unity, Saskatchewan.

He and his family moved from Edmonton to Chilliwack in 1949. Roy was a well-liked manager at the IGA Grocery Store in Vedder Crossing for over 25 years. He then joined Buchanan Pontiac-Buick as a salesman, moving on with Mertin GM as fleet manager. He was a loyal member of the Kinsmen Club, holding all offices including President and District Governor. Roy was the President of the Kinsmen Rehabilitation Foundation and chairman of the Country Living and Santa Claus Parades.

Roy will be sadly missed by his wife Mabel of 54 years, children Janice Leslie Kouwenhoven and Eric (Teresa) Enger, grandchildren Laurel Rhianna Kouwenhoven, Joel Erik Kouwenhoven and Evan Roland Enger. He is also survived by his sister Susan Janet (Derek) Duerden. He was predeceased by his parents Nellie and Einar Enger and brother Robert Allan Enger.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, August 6th, 2011 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Masonic Temple, 45905 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chilliwack General Hospital.
