Rochus “Roger” late of Abbotsford, BC, a longtime resident of Chilliwack, BC, passed away surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, on March 27, 2011 at the age of 87 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Catherina “Rini” (nee: Philipsen); daughter Willie (Jan) Eberwyn, their children Rineke (Erik), Janet (Jan), Hans (Lisette); daughter Joka (Gerrit) Romeyn, their children Martin (Samantha), Ronald (Kevin) Arnold (Nina), son Robert (Maryann) Van Rumpt, their children Rob (Debbie), Mark, Janette (Earl); daughter Catharina Van Rumpt, her children Stephanie (Jon), Nathalie; daughter Marieka (René) Hulstein, their children Jordan, Marcus, Timothy, Ryan, Marliese and 16 great-grandchildren.
His strong faith and compassion for church, family, friends and community was exemplified in his daily life.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC.
A Graveside Service will be held at Chilliwack Cemetery, 10010 Hillcrest Drive, Chilliwack, BC on Friday, April 1, 2011 at 11:00 am. A Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 pm at Emmanuel Free Reformed Church, 3386 Mount Lehman Road, Abbotsford, BC.
