Sadly, we must say goodbye to our brother and uncle, Robert James Parker. Bob passed away on March 28, 2018 at Waverly Seniors Village following a hard fought battle with a lengthy illness.

He was born in Chilliwack, moved to several army bases throughout Canada as a child and resettled in Chilliwack as a teenager. Many Chilliwack residents will remember Bob as the cheerful meter reader from BC Hydro, one who could charm the fiercest dog to be his friend.

He enjoyed garage sales and was a collector of all things unique. Bob was the self appointed neighborhood watch of Windsor Street, sitting at his post with a "Double Double", chatting with all who were walking by and greeting each dog with a scratch between the ears.

Bob is survived by brothers, Gary (Elinor), Dennis (Linda), Wayne (Vivian), Paul (Lorette) and sister, Sandy (Rod). Nephews and nieces David (Nicola), Theresa (Brenden), Kris, Nickie, Brandon, Nicholas and Caitlin. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Rose Parker.

The family is grateful for all the care provided by the medical professionals at Chilliwack General Hospital. In the short time he lived at The Waverly, Bob received support, kindness and respect from the exceptional staff. We would like to thank Dr Melanie Madill for her dedicated and compassionate care over the years. No service as per Bob's request.
