KINGDON; Richard William

October 3, 1950 - December 12, 2016

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rick Kingdon on December 12, 2016. Rick was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Marie Kingdon. He is survived by his wife Daisy and step-daughters Connie, Nicole and Natalie, daughter Valerie (Kory), grandchildren Katelyn, Kyle and Kayden, step-daughter Angela (Dale), brother Ron (Maureen), their children Amy, Adam and Heather, brother Glen (Tracy), brother Rob (Pat) and daughter Lisa, sister Anita (Bob) their children, Sean, Brandie and Dallas, sister Bev (Mike), their children, Eric and Andrea and numerous grandchildren, grandnephews, nieces and cousins. Rick was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The family moved to Burnaby in 1951. In 1962 the family moved to Chilliwack where Rick received most of his formal education. He began his career in autobody mechanics in Chilliwack, then, in the early 1970's, he moved to Prince George where he continued his career. He later changed careers to heavy duty machine operator/truck driver, which he enjoyed. Unfortunately he was forced to retire because of health issues. Rick was large in stature (6'7") and larger in life. He was a hunter, a fisherman and enjoyed camping. He liked spending time with his family and friends. He was loved by all. Rick and Daisy lived on the banks of the Fraser River, it was a beautiful spot; where Rick spent his remaining days.

Rick was a gentle giant with a big heart. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A memorial service will be announced on a later date.
