CARPENTER, Richard Edward George. Royal Canadian Legion and Royal Canadian Navy Flag. Born March 25, 1951 in Russell Manitoba, he passed away peacefully January 19, 2014 at Cascade Hospice Chilliwack after a short courageous battle with cancer with his wife Christine at his side. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Michelle and dear wife Susan. He is survived by son Jeff daughter-in-law Michelle and grandchildren Chelsea and Dallas, son-in-law Omar and daughter-in-law Sehar and extended family members and friends in eastern Canada. Rick was known as Reg to family and school friends, Chuck to his sea mates in the Royal Canadian Navy because he was always smiling, and Big Rick to his friends and colleagues in northern BC and Alberta where he worked in heavy construction for many years as a well liked and respected foreman and superintendent. A patient kind and gentle man he enjoyed golfing with his neighbours, Friday night meat draws at the Vedder Legion Branch 280 and tending to his garden. Missing him badly and not understanding is his little white wolf pack Mindy, Nicky and Dolly. Thank you Dr. Enns, and all the staff at Chilliwack Hospital and Cascade Hospice for your kind care during Rick's last days. Rest in Peace Rick. McLean's (604)847-3477
