With great sorrow we announce that Pietertje van den Bosch passed away at Sunset Manor Care Home in Chilliwack on May 18, 2019 at the age of 95.
She was born in Aalsmeer, The Netherlands, on August 25, 1923 and lived there until immigrating to Canada with her husband and children in 1972.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Jan van den Bosch in 2006; two grandchildren, Pietertje Kerkhoff in 1980, and Marnico van den Bosch in 2010; three great-grandchildren, David Anker in 2003, Sarina Kerkhoff in 2014, and Zayn van Huigenbos in 2016.
She is survived by her seven children; Jan and Klazina van den Bosch, Anneke and Maarten Kerkhoff, Jaap and Aileen van den Bosch, Tine and Arie Pannekoek, Ellen and Jan van Huigenbos, Peter and Evelien van den Bosch, and Johanna and Wim Klop. She is also survived by 44 grandchildren, 93 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service was held on May 23, 2019, at the Reformed Congregation in North America with Elder Barten officiating. Interment at Chilliwack Cemeteries.
Pallbears were her grandsons Jan van den Bosch, Johan Kerkhoff, Ben van den Bosch, Jan Pannekoek, Juan van den Bosch, and Pieter Klop.
The family wishes to thank Dr Markey and Dr Wolff who were involved in her care for so many years, as well as all the amazing staff at Sunset Manor for their incredible care and dedication these past 5 years. A special thanks to Cathy Vrieselaar, Oma's great granddaughter Janaye Elgersma and Darian Bisschop for their loving care and support in her final moments.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Mount Cheam Christian School or Sunset Manor Care home.
