There has been a standing joke between myself and my husband for 64+ years. He always said that he would go directly to heaven having lived with a stubborn, strong minded Ukrainian woman. Well, he has moved to a new address: Heaven. He made the move on January 23, 2023 after a lengthy stay at Eden Care Centre. He will be visiting his mother Francisca Carpay and his father Piet Bes Sr., his stepfather Theo Huffels, and his brother Dirk Bes.
Left to celebrate his move are his wife Jean, his two sons, Andrew (Kate) and Peter (Suzanne), grandchildren Ashley (Eric) Hoffman, Jamie Clarke (Kevin) and Keith. He will also be missed by his great-grandchildren Madison Hoffman, Faye and Abby Clarke, younger brother Theo Huffels (Cindy) and sister Helena Lilley (Keith) as well as many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews here in BC, and Thunder Bay ON, Michigan USA and his Tim Horton’s coffee buddies.
By now he will be playing golf with his sister-in-law Alice and her husband Dennis.
My most sincere thank you to the staff of Eden Care Centre.
At this time there will be no funeral.
