Pete passed away suddenly at the Chilliwack Hospital on Tuesday, May 6, 2008.
Pete is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Iris and their six children: Robert (Marian) Penner of Chwk, Kathy (Dan) Valenta of Salmo, Glen (Evelyn) Penner of Chwk, Russell (Darlene) Penner of Kamloops, Lloyd (Donna) Penner of Spuzzum, Darlene (Paul) Gear of Edmonton; and his brother Walt (Meg) Penner of West Vancouver; sisters-in-law: Cathy and Pat Penner of Chwk, Marg Cavanah (Jack) of Bassano Alta, Irene Gregson (Gord) of Maple Ridge, B.C., and many nieces and nephews. He was the proud grandfather of 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
His sister Helen, brothers Henry, Alvin, Vic, and Vern, and mother and father predeceased Pete.
Pete was a WWII Veteran. He moved to Chilliwack in 1956 where he worked as a mechanic in the forest industry.
His family and friends will sadly miss him.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. from Henderson's Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Henderson's Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the Army Navy & Air Force Veterans Club #305 46268 Yale Road, Chilliwack.
