Church,Peter Howard Murray
Peter Howard Murray Church, of Chilliwack, passed away Monday, April 27th, 2015 at Chilliwack Hospital.
He was born to the late Howard and Mary Church of Sherbrooke, Quebec.
Peter joined the R.C.M.P. in April 1957, and was stationed initially in Victoria, where he obtained his commercial pilot's license. He was stationed in and around the province, finally settling in Chilliwack in 1977. He retired with the rank of Staff Sergeant after 25 years of service.
He then co-founded Praetorian Security Inc. with Mr. Gale Lang, operating successfully for 30 years.
Peter was a bard; many people will remember him for his guitar playing and light-hearted skits involving his colleagues.
Peter is predeceased by his sister Joan. Peter is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce (Jae), children Jennifer and Michael, his sister Nancy Gullett, his brother Michael, and his two grandchildren, Dayton
and Taya.
A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. We would like to thank all of the hospital staff who cared deeply for dad in his prolonged stay, especially Dr. Ken Hirst. It meant a great deal to us.
