It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Tom with family and friend at his side on March 9, 2011.
He is predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Irene and son Bud.
Tom is survived by his dear friend and companion, Betty; his beloved family members; son Roy, brother Dave of Champion, AB; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Tom was born March 13, 1919 in Englefield Greene, England to parents Margaret and Edward. He proudly served for 25 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Following his devoted service he committed his time to working with the Florida School board before he and his family moved to Chilliwack. Throughout his retirement Tom spent plenty of time golfing with his buddy, Reg Watters.
Tom and Betty created great memories together as they travelled to far off places such as the Dominican Republic, Alaska, and Mexico. He and Betty will forever cherish the companionship of the many friends they shared along the way. Special thanks to Dr. Insanally for the countless hours he visited with Tom and to the staff of Eden Care Centre for the love and attention offered to Tom.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated on March 16, 2011 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 8909 Mary Street in Chilliwack. An interment will follow in the Legion section of the Chilliwack Cemetery at approximately 11:15 am.
